A survey of the history of African Americans in the United States, emphasizing their unique heritage within, historical evolution in, and contributions to American society. The course analyzes the institutions, personalities, and trends that shaped the social, economic, political, and cultural developments of the United States. Prerequisite: Completing or exempting Support-level ENGL.
