Catalog description

This course will introduce students to the primary areas of assessment that must be considered for an individual with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Each area of the disability, social, communication and repetitive behaviors and patterns of interest will be discussed. In addition, the area of challenging behavior and the role of assessment will be covered. Survey and assessment instruments will be presented and discussed, and early identification of Autism will be presented. An interdisciplinary evaluation process will be emphasized throughout the course. Assessments for students with Autism or Asperger Syndrome will be emphasized. Note Dual list SPED 502
