Catalog description

This is a systematic introduction to classical mechanics emphasizing motion in three dimensions. Topics include central forces, harmonic oscillations, non-inertial reference frames, rigid body motion, and Lagrangian and Hamiltonian Mechanics. Prerequisites and Corequisites Course prerequisite: PHYS 113 - Introduction to Physics II (C) [SGR #6, HSDC] , PHYS 213 - University Physics II (C) [SGR #6, HSDC] , or PHYS 209 and MATH 225 - Calculus III (C) [SGR #5, HSDC] Note (C) denotes common course
