Cultural Humility: Essential Foundation for Health Professionals

Catalog description

In this course, students use occupational therapy perspectives to explore ideas about culture, health, and occupational engagement. Concepts including cultural humility, cultural safety, interprofessional healthcare, and community service-learning are explored. Students engage in a process-oriented occupational therapy approach by investigating the sociocultural environment of a given population and developing an understanding of the cultural and environmental factors that influence occupational performance and well-being within that population. Prerequisites and Corequisites Registration Restriction: A minimum of 45 credits must be completed before enrolling in this course.
