Catalog description

This writing course examines the major issues that influence health, the human experience of chronic illness, and the three tenets of evidence-based‑ practice. It addresses the healthcare needs of multicultural populations, the roots and impacts of disparities, the systemic barriers that shape access to care, and strategies to reduce inequities. The course explores patient and client‑-centered ‑care, the psychosocial dimensions of chronic disease and wellness, and approaches to health promotion and education. Prerequisites and Corequisites Prerequisites: ANTH 211 , CJUS 202 , ENGL 201 , ENGL 205 , ENGL 283 , ENGL 284 , SOC 211 , POLS 202 , UHON 211 , or equivalent. (Advanced Comp requirement)
