Catalog description

This course offers students a balanced approach to translating written German by equally emphasizing the basic rules of the language, reading skills, history, and culture. Students learn how cultural and historical contexts can make translation both easier and more challenging. Interdisciplinary comparisons and intercultural competence are of special concern.
