Translating German (C)

Catalog description

This course provides experience in translation from German into English (or, as appropriate, from English into German). Initial focus on specific structural and grammatical issues that make the translation of German texts more difficult, followed by units covering the basic areas of translation: genealogical, literary, technical. Experience using online dictionaries, reference works, forums, and how to approach difficult passages and translation problems. Prerequisites and Corequisites Prereq: GER 202 - Intermediate German II (C) [SGR #4, HSDC] Note Delivered in cooperative program with USD, NSU, and SDSU. (C) Denotes common course.
