Catalog description

Fundamental course directed to students in medical laboratory science. Survey of the chemistry of carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids; the metabolic transformation associated with energy yielding and energy requiring processes of the cell; the biochemical basis of the transfer of genetic information; basic biochemical techniques and some clinical methods. Lecture and laboratory component. Prerequisites and Corequisites Course prerequisites: CHEM 310 / CHEM 310L , CHEM 326 / CHEM 326L , or CHEM 332 / CHEM 332L Registration restriction: Enrollment in Medical Laboratory Sciences (UBS.MLS)
