Catalog description

In this class, students will explore the idea of art as an essential quality of what it means to be human. By examining art through an anthropological perspective via time and space, students will analyze artistic movements and the ideological construction of “art” itself. The main objective of the course is to understand the how and why of artistic expressions-and place those answers into a wider context.
