Principles of Wildlife Management

Catalog description

History, principles, and real-world applications of wildlife management, building on key concepts from ecology. Students will explore wildlife ecology, population dynamics, research methods, and current issues in wildlife management, examining legal, social, and political dimensions that shape management efforts. Significant focus on wildlife management in South Dakota. Students will actively engage in team-based research projects, critical evaluations of literature, and written and oral communication exercises, all designed to enhance critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Prerequisites: NRM 230 and NRM 276 and ( NRM 282 or STAT 281 ) and NRM 311 . Corequisites: WL 411L . Notes: Fall.
