Catalog description

In our media-saturated society, it is essential to develop sophisticated approaches to interacting with images, screens, and representations. Through the study of selected films and other moving image media from the Spanish-speaking world, students learn to understand and analyze how these media produce meaning and how those meanings can be interpreted, or “read,” through close textual analysis. Screenings and discussions are a routine part of the course. Prerequisites: SPAN 330 . Notes: Repeatable up to 3 times for a maximum of 9 credits.
