Catalog description
Principles of medical microbiology including a survey of the most clinically significant bacterial, fungal, parasitic, and viral diseases in the world, with an emphasis on those most prevalent in North America. Case studies will address: morphology, physiology, and virulence of the microbes and the epidemiology, treatment, and prevention of the diseases they cause. Prerequisites: ( CHEM 106 or CHEM 112 ) and ( MICR 231 or MICR 233 or BIOL 331).
