Catalog description

Introductory microbiology course for biology, microbiology and biotechnology majors. Basics of microbial cell structure and function; viral structure; microbial diversity and evolution; interactions between microbes and plants/animals; biogeochemical cycling; microbial growth; and control of microorganisms. Prerequisites: Completion of BIOL 151 and ( CHEM 106 or CHEM 108 or CHEM 112 or CHEM 114 ). Corequisites: MICR 233L .
