An introductory course to the principles, methods, and techniques of empirical social research with special emphasis on research in human development and family science. Topics include the fundamentals of the scientific method, ethical considerations in research, basic methods of quantitative and qualitative data collection and analyses, and strengths and weaknesses of various methods.
