Basic concepts of stress and strain that result from axial, transverse, and torsional loads on bodies loaded within the elastic range. Shear and moment equations and diagrams, combined stresses, Mohr’s circle; beam deflections; and column action and equations. Prerequisites: EM 214 or EM 216.
