Catalog description

This course will address the current research directed at understanding the molecular and cellular basis of cancer and explore potential therapeutic targets. Topics covered will emphasize cell cycle regulation and apoptosis, cellular control of proliferation and differentiation, genetic alterations, growth factors and signal transduction, invasion and metastasis, and angiogenesis. Prerequisites: BIOL 202 or BIOL 204 or BIOL 371 or BIOL 446 or instructor consent.
