Introduction to Integrated Ranch Management

Catalog description

This course introduces the basic principles of ranching and the food and fiber system. Students will be exposed to the complexities of modern agricultural production systems. Topics include: natural resources as the basis for successful ranching; the family as the major supplier of labor and capital; animal and agronomic production systems; economic and financial forces; risk and opportunity; agricultural policy and law; the decision making process; and stress as the driving force of change.
