Catalog description

A course designed to train actors in phonetics, diction and dialects. Students will learn the International Phonetic Alphabet and master its use for Standard American English stage diction, as well as a variety of national variants and foreign dialects, through both phonetic notation and performance of dramatic texts. Students with a semester level of Freshman 1, Freshman 2 or Sophomore 1 may not enroll.
