Social Work Practice with Individuals

Catalog description

This course teaches the foundational practice skills utilized in generalist social work practice with individuals. Students will learn how to engage, assess, intervene, and evaluate work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, applying culturally responsive techniques to promote social justice, client empowerment, and ethical decision-making. Through experiential learning and critical reflection, students will develop skills to address systemic inequities and advocate for equitable outcomes in various social work settings. Students with a semester level of Freshman 1, Freshman 2 or Sophomore 1 may not enroll. Enrollment is limited to students with a major in Social Work.
