Catalog description

This course provides students with the opportunity to learn a wide variety of skin and scuba diving skills, including rescue techniques. In addition, emphasis will be placed upon the following: 1) selection, care, and use of diving equipment, 2) physical and biological aspects of various diving environments, 3) first aid as applied to scuba diving, including cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, and 4) aspects of physics, physiology, and medicine related to the diver's performance in the water. This is a Wellness and Lifetime Activity Course (offered to all students). Students with a semester level of Freshman 1, Freshman 2 or Sophomore 1 may not enroll.
