Catalog description

This is the first of two clinical courses designed to provide an immersion experience in the role of clinical nurse leader (CNL). Under preceptor supervision with a master's prepared CNL or advanced practice nurse, the student will integrate concepts gleaned from prerequisite graduate courses and scientific knowledge to enhance professional nursing practice. Nursing theory, leadership principles, and research principles will be applied within the practice setting to address the evolving role of the CNL, leadership and management strategies, issues of delegation/supervision, patient safety concepts, professional accountability and ethical responsibility, and assessment and planning of patient care. Enrollment is limited to Graduate level students.
