Catalog description

This course introduces students to the principles and practices of behavioral health nursing. It includes patient-centered care, evidence-based practice, communication, and systems-based practice. The course emphasizes the care of individuals and families dealing with mental health and psychiatric disorders, with a focus on assessment, diagnosis, interventions, and the integration of holistic approaches in care. Students with a semester level of Freshman 1, Freshman 2 or Sophomore 1 may not enroll. Enrollment is limited to students with a program in Nursing, Nursing or Nursing 1+2+1.
