Advanced Music Therapy Practicum

Catalog description
Students will complete 100 hours of supervised advanced clinical work (with at least 40 hours of direct client service) beyond the completion of undergraduate/ equivalency clinical training requirements (1200 hours). Translating theory into professional practice is a central focus of this course. Students will utilize advanced musical, verbal and written skills with clients they serve. Students will receive weekly online group supervision with their university supervisor, as well as individual supervision sessions. This course focuses on developing appropriate clinical assessment, treatment, and evaluation methods, as well as clinical case presentations from the student's clinical experiences. Notes: Students practicum placement requires approval by the MMT program director. Enrollment is limited to students with a program in Music Therapy. Enrollment is limited to Graduate level students.
