Systems Thinking in Music Therapy

Catalog description
This course is based on the premise that human beings make sense of the world based on their own development within the context of human systems (individual human systems, family systems, community systems, societal systems). The course explores the theoretical and historical foundations of systems theory, field theory, and ecological theory. In this course, students will examine the application of systems thinking in areas such as Family Music Therapy, Community Music Therapy, and Kenny's Field of Play. Enrollment is limited to students with a program in Music Therapy. Enrollment is limited to Graduate level students.
