Catalog description

This course prepares music education majors to teach and conduct instrumental ensembles across diverse secondary settings. Students will develop expertise in pedagogy, rehearsal planning, assessment, and repertoire selection while integrating technology and inclusive teaching practices. In addition this course emphasizes program building, advocacy, community engagement, classroom management, and administrative responsibilities essential for a secondary teacher in any music setting. Students with a semester level of Freshman 1, Freshman 2 or Sophomore 1 may not enroll. Enrollment limited to students with department of Music.
