Catalog description

This course builds on what was taught in MUSI 189 and is designed to further prepare students in fundamental skills for musicking across a variety of contexts for music and wellness. It includes ways of musicking including music listening for various approaches to music and relaxation; building skills on piano, guitar, and percussion; leading, accompanying and singing songs in a variety of genres with piano and guitar accompaniments; adapting, arranging, transposing and simplifying songs; improvising on piano, guitar, pitched and unpitched percussion instruments, and vocally; composing songs; and learning sound equipment basics and creating, working with, and editing loops.
