Catalog description

This course introduces the essential skills required to conduct vocal and instrumental ensembles, emphasizing physical technique, musical analysis, leadership, and expressive gesture. Students will gain experience in gestural vocabulary, score study, transposition, rehearsal strategies, and podium leadership. Through individual and group practice, students will develop nonverbal communication, musicianship, and rehearsal fluency that form the foundation of successful conducting across diverse musical settings.
