Catalog description

A broad introduction to the fundamental concepts and skills needed to play and teach brass and woodwind instruments in PreK–12 music education settings. Designed for voice majors and others with limited prior instrumental experience, this course emphasizes functional performance proficiency, pedagogical foundations, and instructional strategies. Students will gain experience in tone production, technique, classroom management, and diagnostic teaching across instrument families.
