Catalog description

An introduction to the fundamentals of healthy singing and basic diction for non-voice majors. Students will develop foundational vocal technique, learn the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), and apply principles of pronunciation and articulation in English and selected foreign languages. Emphasis is placed on functional singing skills for classroom, therapeutic, and ensemble settings, effective vocal modeling, and the application of vocal development within educational and clinical music contexts.
