Catalog description

A study of the fundamental concepts, techniques, and pedagogical strategies for teaching guitar, ukulele, and modern band in PreK–12 music education settings. Students will develop functional performance proficiency and explore informal music learning and inclusive approaches that integrate popular music, improvisation, and songwriting. Emphasis is placed on aligning instruction with national and state standards, classroom management, and adaptive strategies for diverse learners. Enrollment is limited to students with a program in Music Education (PK-12) or Music Education (K-12).
