Catalog description

Graduate or undergraduate students after advanced registration in the course may complete the course requirements by either of the following options: Students may elect to take a 200-, 300-, or 400-level course in which they desire advanced work and complete, in addition to the regular course requirements, an approved project in the area under the direction of the instructor; or the student may do an independent research project. In order to be admitted to the latter option, students must submit a research proposal to the academic committee of the Marine Science Consortium. The proposal must include the scope and duration of the proposed research, equipment and facilities required, and a recommendation and approval from the academic advisor. Enrollment is limited to Graduate level students.
