Catalog description

A study of geophysical and geologic instruments and techniques used to penetrate the water layer obscuring the ocean bottom topography and geology and the results of some of that effort. Emphasis is on laboratory and field assignments using basic geophysical and geological instruments. The students are introduced to the use, limitations and results of these instruments. Students with a semester level of Freshman 1, Freshman 2 or Sophomore 1 may not enroll.
