Catalog description

A course designed to familiarize the students with the qualitative aspects of the speciation process; to lay ground work for understanding the basic and specialized structure of marine chordates; to trace the most obvious or important trends (and their functional significance) in the evolution of this basic structure in various vertebrate lines. The laboratories will be devoted primarily to dissection of representative marine vertebrates, particularly those collected live on field trips. Students with a semester level of Freshman 1, Freshman 2 or Sophomore 1 may not enroll.
