Catalog description

An examination of the problems and issues related to the death penalty in the United States, including the history of capital punishment, important Supreme court decisions, how the various jurisdictions deal with capital cases, the comparative costs of incarceration and executions, miscarriages of justices in capital cases, the impact of minority status and how the criminal justice responds to these issues. Students with a semester level of Freshman 1, Freshman 2, Sophomore 1 or Sophomore 2 may not enroll.
