Catalog description
This course provides fundamental principles of computer networking, communication protocols, and technologies that enable digital communication. Students will gain a deep understanding of network architecture, design, and management issues, as well as practical skills needed to design, analyze, troubleshoot, and secure computer networks. Course topics include the layered architecture of computer networking and software/hardware, network programming interfaces, routing algorithms, wireless networks, privacy, and security of a computer network. Students with a semester level of Freshman 1, Freshman 2 or Sophomore 1 may not enroll.
