Catalog description

This course introduces the students to digital electronics and programming based on popular single-board microcontroller and single-board computer system platforms to interact with the environment. Sensors and actuators are utilized for communication and applications in the internet of things (IoT), smart homes, robotics, cyber-physical systems and sensor networks. Topics include the architecture of single-board microcontroller and single-board computer system, basic electricity and electronics, IoT building blocks, connections and configuration, and programming. Students with a semester level of Freshman 1, Freshman 2 or Sophomore 1 may not enroll.
