Advanced Media Writing and Reporting

Catalog description

Instruction in media writing and reporting techniques beyond the basic news story, focused on detailed, in-depth news-writing and news-gathering practices, including use of human and documentary sources. Students will produce stories in short-form and long-form reporting structures, reflecting contemporary media ethics and news values. Students with a semester level of Freshman 1, Freshman 2 or Sophomore 1 may not enroll.
