Catalog description

This course introduces students to the principles of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design within digital media and strategic communication. Through hands-on projects, students will conduct user research, develop wireframes, and apply core UI elements such as color, typography, and layout. The course also explores digital imaging, interactive project development, information architecture, design problem analysis, and contemporary distribution models. Foundational theories of communication, learning, human-centered design, and project evaluation are integrated throughout to deepen students’ strategic and creative decision-making. Students with a semester level of Freshman 1, Freshman 2, Sophomore 1 or Sophomore 2 may not enroll. Enrollment limited to students with department of School of Business, Lang, Lit, Cult & Writing, Computing and Security, Comm, Media and Sport Mgmt or Art.
