Catalog description
This course provides education majors from any content area with a supervised immersive field experience in a school and community setting that differs culturally, geographically, and/or demographically from those typically encountered in local field placements. Students will engage in observing, assisting, and teaching while participating in structured cultural immersion experiences. The course emphasizes professional reflection on teaching, learners, schools, and communities within diverse educational contexts. Travel expenses, which may include lodging, airfare, meals, and other costs, are required. Admission to Teacher Candidacy required. Students with a semester level of Freshman 1, Freshman 2 or Sophomore 1 may not enroll. Enrollment limited to students with the ACCEPTANCE - TEACHER CANDIDACY attribute.
