Catalog description

This course is designed to provide the student with an overview of the process of aging, theoretical perspectives and challenges and opportunities experienced both internally and externally by older adults in a multicultural society. The influences of family, social, community and governmental systems are included in understanding the complexities of the aging process. A wellness orientation is emphasized to enhance the well-being of older persons within the therapeutic counseling relationship. Enrollment is limited to Graduate level students. Enrollment limited to students with the SPECIAL APPROVAL attribute.
