Catalog description

This course is an introduction to the field of addiction. Traditional chemical addictions as well as food, sex, and gambling addiction are covered in terms of etiology, definition, measurement, classification, intervention, and treatment approaches. Special attention is given to the history and evolution of twelve step programs as well as alternative approaches to treatment and the recovery process. Enrollment is limited to Graduate level students.
