Catalog description

A capstone course emphasizing the articulation of ideas and presentation. Senior students will engage in an individually proposed project, culminating in a public exhibition with supporting materials that demonstrate the student's artistic expertise. The student will focus on an individual direction in Metalsmithing, the content and form of which will be determined by past studio investigations, critique, history and aesthetics while working closely with the Metalsmithing professor. The student is responsible for all components of their projects while displaying a high level of self-awareness, intrinsic motivation, and professionalism. By permission of instructor. Students with a semester level of Freshman 1, Freshman 2 or Sophomore 1 may not enroll.
