Senior Studio Metalsmithing

Catalog description
This course will encourage students to explore a personal investigation of metalsmithing production, critique, history and aesthetics. Students will demonstrate self-directed behavior relevant to professionalism and artistry. Coursework will require an understanding of self that extends to an integral commitment in the production of a variety of work that is representative of the student's individual aesthetic. The quality and caliber of work produced in this course will define the student as a metalsmith. Through creative studio practice, students should develop a high degree of self awareness and intrinsic motivation. Repeatable: consult individual curriculum guide. CAPP Prerequisites: Must take 1 of the following: ART 305 , ART 306 , ART 307 , ART 308 , ART 309 , ART 310 , ART 311 , ART 312 , ART 313 or ART 314 . Students with a semester level of Freshman 1, Freshman 2 or Sophomore 1 may not enroll.
