Catalog description

This course will investigate an advanced level of metalsmithing production, critique, history and aesthetics. Students will continue to investigate genres of metalsmithing, and new metalsmithing techniques will be explored to aid in the articulation of individual artistic goals. Emphasis will be placed upon strengthening portfolios through heightened production and an expanded exploration of process. Students wilt continue to strengthen their ability to critically analyze artwork. Through creative studio practice, students should develop the following emphasized artistic traits: independence in making judgments and fluency in ideas and materials. Repeatable: consult individual curriculum guide. Students with a semester level of Freshman 1, Freshman 2 or Sophomore 1 may not enroll.
