Catalog description
This is a second course in differential equations extending the concepts introduced in the first course MATH 301 . Students will investigate series solutions to linear differential equations near both ordinary and singular points. Students will review linear systems of differential equations and use the matrix exponential. Students will analyze the stability of equilibrium solutions to non-linear dynamical systems, including bifurcation theory. Applications of these dynamical systems will be addressed, including chaotic systems. Mathematical software will be used in this course.
