Catalog description

This course prepares students for the unique demands of auditioning and performing for film, television, commercials, and industrials. Students will identify the difference between acting for the stage and screen, examine types of screen performances from various genres and media, learn acting and technical terminology, and will apply basic acting techniques and tools such as script analysis, developing characters, given circumstances, actions, and improvisation to create a genuine, believable performance on-camera. Students will work hands-on with practical exercises on audition material, monologues, cold-reading and scenes on camera, and will review their work and others to incorporate feedback for further development.
