Catalog description
An opportunity for students to pursue intermediate-level apparatus design projects under the supervision of a member of the department. Students may practice skills such as 3D modeling and printing, machining, electronics prototyping, optical alignment, or data acquisition. Emphasis is placed on experimental design, troubleshooting, and documenting and communicating design choices. Projects may be completed individually or collaboratively, with the goal of building both technical expertise and confidence in creating custom apparatuses for physics research.
