Effective use and interpretation of financial information. Students examine the use of accounting information by managers for planning, control, decision-making and strategy development. Students learn key management accounting concepts and techniques specific to manufacturing and service entities. Topics include cost systems (history of traditional costing systems and evolution of new costing systems), budgeting strategies and techniques, performance evaluation, and responsibility accounting.
