- Feminist Research: Methods and Praxis

Catalog description

This course explores feminist approaches to research, theories of knowledge production, and socio-political movements. Open to students majoring in gender studies and other disciplines, it emphasizes the application of feminist methodologies within humanities and social sciences, and examines connections between methodologies, methods, and praxis. Students will be introduced to feminist epistemologies and the ways they challenge dominant paradigms, and reflect on social locations while examining how it shapes their relationship with the research they design. To apply their knowledges within contexts beyond the classroom and academia, students will design a community engagement project based on their research project to share with a broader audience, aiming for feminist social change.
