An anthropological examination of transnationalism by focusing on the Korean peninsula, its diasporas, and global connections. In this world characterized by globalization, how does transnationalism—the increasing interactions beyond and across national boundaries—affect how people and communities go about their everyday lives? What are the challenges associated with transnationalism in a global world? Students will examine these questions through the study of Korean culture, both North and South.
